A Review on the Effectiveness of Online Learning in Cultivating Self-Directed Learning of Medical and Nursing Students
Anson Tang Chui Yan*
Online learning is one of the most common self-directed learning approaches adopted in medical and nursing education. As such, this review aims to investigate the effectiveness of online learning in cultivating self-directed learning of medical and nursing students. Findings from the relevant literature published in the past 20 years were summarized and analyzed. Their inconsistent findings imply that whether online learning can help developing self-direct learning is still inconclusive.
